Rejoice?  during Lent?  That is the attitude of some, who see Lent only as a time of  “I have to give up something, “  or, “More services at church.”

Yes, rejoice!  What better time?  Easter is coming, the Resurrection of the Lord, our salvation.   In the words of today’s second reading:

“God, who is rich in mercy, because of the great love He had for us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, brought us to life with Christ . . .”

Rejoice!
